THE REVERSIBLE CHRONIC RENAL FAILURE

Abstract
The conclusions are as follows.
1. In chronic pyelonephritis without uremia, acute urinary tract infection is precipitating factor of the uremia becaues acute infection may lead up to destruction and edematous change of the renal parenchymal tissue. Deteriorated renal function (uremia) owing to urinary tract infection is reversible if immediate and effective therapy is performed.
2. Acute or chronic obstruction of the urinary tract is a complication frequently encountered in patients with renal insufficiency. Corrective surgery of urinary tract should be do before permanent renal parenchymal tissue damaged.
3. Hypercalcemia is a cause of renal failure in the patient with previously normal kidney and the patient with underlying renal disease. Renal failure due to hypercalcemia is reversible after the remove of causative factors.
4. Depletion of sodium and water is common complication of renal insufficiency. The deteriolation of kidney function that accompanies depletion of sodium and water is the consequence of reduction in plasma volume and inparment of renal prefusion. After the repairement of the soium and water deficit, the uremic state may be reversible.
5. Chronic potassium depletion, renal tubular acidosis, polycystic kidney, glomerulonephritis due to subacute baterial endocarditis, gouty nephritis, phenacetion intoxication, chronic lead nephropathhy, severe heart failure and cardiac tamponade are reversible chronic renal failure.
